Everyone watched the film "Doing Time, Doing Vipassana." 4. Discussion of the film: - see dhamma.org for more information about Vipassana. - courses are available in MA, TX, FL, CA and Rockford, IL - courses last 10 days, with 10 hours of meditation each day - "how has Vipassana changed your activism?" - "less pissed off" 5. Announcements - The Peace is Cool Club gave a status update: - showed pictures of marching in the Labor Day parade - spoke at "Who's Left" festival at ISU - making ornaments in which to put pledges to change the world this year - working on a website - will be doing presentations at ISU and IWU - meeting Oct. 9 to plan next year's summer camp - read a letter to the Pantagraph about the importance of voting - Vic Connor: - No New Nukes will meet Tues. Oct. 12 at 7:30 - probably at the Ecology Action Center - Helen Caldicott will speak on Oct. 7 - 4:30pm at IWU's Center for Natural Sciences Rm. 101 - 7pm at ISU's Old Main Room in the Bone Student Center - John Wilson: - free t-shirts - Dr. Gill will speak Thur.
